New Orleans Youth Ballet

About NOYB

The New Orleans Youth Ballet is a pre-professional company and the junior division of the Delta Festival Ballet. Artistic Directors, Maria Giacobbe and Joseph Giacobbe founded DFB in 1989 to give young aspiring dancers the opportunity to hone their craft and acquire the skills necessary to pursue a professional dance career. It is open to males and females ten years and older.

Members receive professional training in addition to their regular dance classes and enjoy the experience and satisfaction of performing in many DFB productions, in ballets and dance works prepared for the NOYB, as well as in social and cultural events throughout New Orleans and the surrounding region. Dozens of former Youth Ballet dancers have been accepted into major ballet and dance companies in the United States and Europe, appeared on Broadway, TV, films, national touring companies, and in musical productions throughout the country.
